Defence and Security
St Malo (1998) was a key moment in the building of the European Security and Defence Policy. It established a new relationship between the UK and France, which enabled the launch and implementation of the core management crisis policy conducted by Europe in 21 military and civilian operations over the world. It also established a new framework with new tools which inspired the current European Security Strategy.
But how have we progressed in the last 10 years ? Several FBC seminars have asked this question either in a bilateral context or in the wider context of the Middle east or Transatlantic Affairs.
